Every Child Begins Whole
What if intelligence isn’t something we acquire…
What if it is something we gradually forget?
Born Whole explores how fear, comparison, labels, and conditioning quietly replace curiosity with self-doubt—
and how awareness can restore the intelligence that was always there.
Instead of teaching people to become someone new…
this book helps them remember who they already are.

About the author
Tariq Marghoob
Founder of the ISPD Framework.
Tariq Marghoob has spent two decades asking the one question most educators are afraid to ask: What if the child is not the problem? Across the conflict-scarred valleys of Kashmir and the rural plains of Haryana, he has built two schools — Free Birds International in Srinagar and Som Gurukul Group in Haryana — on a conviction that runs counter to everything conventional education assumes: that children do not arrive broken. They arrive whole. What diminishes them is not a lack of intelligence — it is the slow, steady erosion of their trust in it. “The task of education is not to fill children with content. It is to protect the wholeness they already carry.” This belief gave rise to the ISPD Framework — Intellectual, Social, Personal, and Developmental intelligence — created in partnership with renowned psychiatrist Dr. Mushtaq Margoob. Adopted by the Government of J&K’s Directorate of School Education, piloted across Srinagar’s government high schools, and used to train over 500 teachers across the region, the Framework is the intellectual spine of this book. For two years, Marghoob delivered 300 live segments on Doordarshan Kashmir — bringing these ideas into the homes of thousands of parents and educators whose questions, year after year, shaped every page of No to Now. He has spoken at the House of Lords, the International Children’s Film Forum, and forums across India, Qatar, and Europe — and has carried the ISPD Framework into conversations with ambassadors and education ministers from the UK, Canada, and Russia. His honours include: • Bharat Samman Award — NRI Pravasi Divas 2010 • NRI Institute Pride of India Award 2017, House of Lords, London • Bharat Shiromani Award 2018–19, presented by Lord Swraj Paul • BRICS Educational Award • Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy in Education, Training & Development No to Now is his third book — and his most personal. It is the distillation of everything two decades of watching children lose and reclaim themselves has taught him: that the voice you have been waiting for was never missing. It was only waiting to be trusted. He lives and works between Kashmir and Haryana, building schools, training minds, and writing the books he wishes someone had written sooner.
You Were Born Whole.
Not broken.
Not incomplete.
Not behind.
Only waiting to remember.
